This program is structured over a period of 12 months, comprising a combination of didactic lectures, interactive presentations, case studies, and assessments.
Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive a certificate of achievement in Electrophysiology Education and will be prepared with the knowledge needed for the RCES or IBHRE/CEPS certification.
The Electrophysiology Education Program is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the principles, techniques, and applications of cardiac electrophysiology. This program encompasses both theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for successful research and clinical practice in electrophysiology.
This course will cover the foundational principles of the cardiac anatomy, conduction system and an in-depth heart dissection.
Students will learn the building blocks of ECGs including Einthoven’s triangle, sinus rhythm and various arrhythmias, heart block, and vector determination.
In this 3-part course, participants will gain knowledge on the electrophysiology procedure, x-ray, and equipment. Part 2 focuses on data acquisition and analysis of the intracardiac electrogram, and part 3 breaks down the concepts of electrophysiology testing and engage the learner in multiple ways to practice their developing skills.
Participants will explore the various arrhythmias with in-depth discussion on the mechanisms, differential testing, and treatment options. They will be also able to strengthen these skills with guided case study modules. Arrhythmias include: AVNRT, AVRT, Atrial Tachycardia, Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia, Atrial Flutter, Atrial Fibrillation, Complex Atrial Arrhythmias, Ventricular Tachycardia and Channelopathies.
While covering antiarrhythmic medications, cardiac ablation, and emerging technologies, the learner will solidify their knowledge on treatment methods for the various arrhythmias.
With the ever-expanding usage of intracardiac ultrasound in clinical practice, the course breaks down the principle of ultrasound, catheter manipulation, cardiac views and transseptal puncture. While there is a heavy emphasis on ICE usage, other cardiac ultrasound modalities will also be introduced.
Participants will gain experience with a variety of electrophysiologic recording systems, cardiac stimulators, pumps, ablation generators, and other equipment with which they may utilize.
Keep practicing the newly acquired skills with a library of case studies, games, and practice exams.
