Dr. Andrea Natale is a distinguished figure in the field of cardiac electrophysiology, renowned for his groundbreaking contributions to the treatment of atrial fibrillation (AF) and other rhythm disorders. He earned his medical degree with summa cum laude honors in Medicine and Surgery, and holds board certifications in Cardiovascular Disease and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.
Currently serving as the Executive Medical Director of the Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute at St. David’s Medical Center in Austin, Texas, and the National Medical Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology for HCA Healthcare, Dr. Natale leads innovative research and clinical initiatives in the field.
A pioneer in AF treatment, Dr. Natale introduced revolutionary techniques such as circumferential ultrasound vein-ablation and percutaneous epicardial radiofrequency ablation. He has also developed catheter-based cure strategies for various rhythm disorders, significantly advancing the field of cardiac electrophysiology.
Throughout his career, Dr. Natale has been actively involved in first-in-human trials for investigational devices and has patented several life-saving medical devices, including those used in the treatment of AF. His research interests encompass Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, defibrillation mechanisms, ablation treatments, and thrombosis effects on platelet aggregation.
